Danielle Royer is a London-based multidisciplinary artist who seamlessly blends illustration, animation, 3D modelling, and sculpture with photography to create immersive, character-driven experiences.
Inspired by her love of toys and dolls, she pushes the boundaries of traditional art forms by incorporating emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and AugmentedReality (AR) into her practice.
She has a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Animation from Kingston University. Her work has gained recognition in the art world, with a recent exhibition at the Decoding/Encoding Exhibition at Millbank Tower in London.
She served as the Artist in Residence at Women in ImmersiveTech, a program in partnership with Meta (formerly Facebook). Additionally, she completed an Artist Residency with Wired Sussex, collaborating with the University of Brighton and Gatwick Airport to create a VR Caribbean themed rhythm game called Socafest.
In addition to her personal artistic practice, Royer is committed to sharing her knowledge and inspiring others in the field. She regularly facilitates digital and practical making sessions at various museums, introducing participants to the exciting possibilities of digital art. Furthermore, Royer contributes to the next generation of artists through her role at the University of the Arts London (UAL), where she shares her expertise in digital media and emerging technologies.
Royer's artistic philosophy is deeply rooted in the intersection of childhood exploration and cutting-edge technology.
